AffZero vs Managing Binom by Hand

Binom tracks the traffic. Someone still pulls the reports, syncs costs and watches for losing campaigns. Here's what changes when AffZero does that work.

Updated

The short answer

Binom stays your tracker; AffZero doesn't replace it. AffZero connects to Binom's API and runs the work people usually do around it by hand: the morning report, cost updates from traffic sources, hourly checks for campaigns losing money, and logging to Google Sheets. If you run a handful of campaigns and check them once a day, Binom alone is enough. Once several buyers, sources or daily checks are involved, automating that layer gives back hours every week.

Side by side

AffZeroBinom by hand
Tracking clicks and conversionsNot a tracker. It reads Binom's data through the API.✓This is Binom's job, and it does it on your own server.
Morning stats report✓Emailed on a schedule, from one tracker or several, before anyone logs in.Log in, set the date range and group-by, then export or screenshot.
Cost updates✓A scheduled step pulls spend from PopAds, PopCash or Adcash and writes it into Binom.Cost tokens where the source passes them; otherwise someone enters costs by hand.
Spotting losing campaigns✓A Condition Check runs every hour and alerts you when ROI or profit crosses your line.Someone has to open the report and notice.
Acting on it✓The same automation can pause the campaign at PopAds or PopCash, or edit rotations and paths in Binom.Done by hand in each platform.
Funnels, paths and rotationsEditable through the API when you ask Agent Zero or add a step.✓Binom's interface is built for this and shows the whole structure at once.
Bulk setup✓Bulk upload offers, landing pages and campaigns, or describe them to Agent Zero.Created in Binom's interface.
Quick questions="Show campaign 152 by T1 for yesterday" in plain language.=Build the report in Binom's interface.
Record of what happened✓Every automated run is logged step by step in Runs & Logs.Depends on who did what, and whether they wrote it down.

Choose AffZero if…

  • ✓You pull the same Binom numbers every morning, or send them to someone else.
  • ✓You buy on PopAds, PopCash or Adcash and copy spend into Binom.
  • ✓You want to know within the hour when a campaign turns unprofitable, not at the end of the day.
  • ✓You run more than one tracker and want one report.

Stick with Binom by hand if…

  • →You run a few campaigns and look at them once a day anyway.
  • →Your traffic sources already pass accurate costs into Binom.
  • →Most of your time goes into building funnels and rotations, not into reporting.

What Binom does well, and keeps doing

Binom is a fast, self-hosted tracker. It records clicks and conversions, routes traffic through paths and rotations, and gives media buyers detailed reports grouped by any token. None of that moves to AffZero. If you like how Binom tracks and routes, keep it exactly as it is.

What Binom doesn't do is the routine work around the tracker. Someone opens it every morning, sets yesterday's date, groups by campaign, and pastes the numbers into a chat or a sheet. Someone copies spend from the traffic source. Someone scrolls the campaign list a few times a day looking for red numbers. That is the work AffZero takes over.

The work around the tracker

By hand

  • Open Binom, set yesterday, group by campaign, export
  • Log in to PopAds and copy spend into Binom
  • Check the campaign list three times a day for losses
  • Paste numbers into Slack or a sheet for the team

With AffZero

  • The report is in your inbox at 8:00
  • Spend is synced into Binom on a schedule
  • An hourly check alerts you, or pauses the campaign
  • Every run writes a row to Google Sheets

Each of these is small on its own. Together, for a buyer with a couple of dozen campaigns, they add up to a working day or more every week. The estimate at the top of this page shows how that adds up.

What an hourly loss check looks like

Here's one automation a Binom user might build first. It runs every hour and only does something when a campaign crosses the line you set.

Hourly loss check

  1. 1Pull statsBinom, today, by campaign
  2. 2Filter dataSpend above $50
  3. 3Condition checkROI below -30%
  4. 4Tracker actionPause the campaign at the traffic source
  5. 5Send emailTell the buyer what was paused and why

You can start without the pause step and just get the alert. Many buyers do that for a week or two, see that the alerts fire when they should, and only then let the automation act on its own. If you want a person to sign off first, an Approve to Continue step stops the run until someone clicks approve.

Setting it up

  1. Add your Binom connection: installation URL and API key.
  2. Check it on the Stats page with yesterday's numbers by campaign. If the numbers match Binom, the connection is right.
  3. Start from a preset, or describe the workflow to Agent Zero in a sentence and let it build the steps.
  4. Run it once with Run Now, read the log in Runs & Logs, then switch on the schedule.

Our guide to creating your first automation walks through the same steps with screenshots.

When Binom alone is the better choice

If you run a few campaigns, look at them once a day, and your traffic sources already pass cost into Binom, an extra tool adds little. The same is true if your days go into building funnels and testing landers rather than reporting. Binom's interface is the right place for that work.

AffZero earns its place when the same checks and reports repeat every day, across several sources or several people. The savings calculator puts numbers on it for your own volume.

Frequently asked questions

Does AffZero replace Binom?+

No. Binom keeps tracking clicks, conversions and routing. AffZero connects to it with your API key and automates the reporting, cost updates, checks and edits around it.

Does AffZero work with a self-hosted Binom?+

Yes. Binom runs on your own server, so the connection asks for your Binom installation URL plus an API key from Settings → API. Keys are encrypted at rest and never shown back in full.

Can one automation use Binom and a traffic source together?+

Yes. A typical setup pulls spend from PopAds or PopCash, writes it into Binom, then checks the campaign's numbers. Each platform is its own connection, and steps pass data to the next one.

Will AffZero change my Binom campaigns without asking?+

Automations only do what you configured in their steps. Agent Zero, the chat, shows a confirmation card before any change to your tracker.
