AffZero vs Managing Affise by Hand

Affise runs your network. Managers still export partner stats, chase conversion drops and build month-end invoices. Here's what AffZero takes off their plate.

Updated

The short answer

Affise is the network platform: offers, partners, caps, postbacks and billing live there, and AffZero leaves them there. AffZero connects to the Affise API and automates the recurring work managers do around it: partner stats emails, conversion checks, invoices on your own template with approval before they go out, and Google Sheets logs. If Affise's built-in reports and scheduled affiliate billing already cover your month, you may not need more. If managers still export, copy and email numbers every week, that's the part AffZero takes over.

Choose AffZero if…

  • ✓Managers spend part of every week exporting partner stats and emailing them.
  • ✓Invoices need your own layout or numbering, and a person to approve them before they go out.
  • ✓You run Affise next to another tracker and want one view.
  • ✓You want an alert within the hour when conversions drop or spike on an offer.

Stick with Affise by hand if…

  • →Affise's scheduled affiliate billing and built-in reports already cover your month-end.
  • →You have a few partners and talk to each of them directly.
  • →Your developers already maintain internal scripts on the Affise API.

What stays in Affise

Affise is where your network lives: offers, partners, advertisers, caps, postbacks, smartlinks and billing. AffZero doesn't copy any of that into a second system. It reads and writes through the Affise API, the same way your own scripts would, so Affise remains the source of truth.

That matters for a comparison like this one. The question isn't Affise or AffZero. It's who does the repetitive work that sits around Affise every week: a manager, or an automation.

The weekly work around Affise

By hand

  • Export stats per partner and paste them into emails
  • Check the statistics page for conversion drops and caps
  • Build invoices in a document, number them, attach PDFs
  • Copy totals into the finance sheet

With AffZero

  • Partners get their numbers every Monday
  • An hourly check emails you when an offer moves
  • Invoices are built, numbered and queued for approval
  • Every run writes its totals to Google Sheets

None of these jobs is hard. They are just frequent, and they land on the people who should be finding new partners and offers.

Month-end, as one automation

AffZero ships a monthly invoicing preset. It's the workflow most Affise teams build first, because month-end is where the manual hours pile up.

Monthly affiliate invoicing

  1. 1Pull statsAffise, last month, by affiliate
  2. 2Filter dataKeep the partner being invoiced
  3. 3Invoice numberNext number in your series
  4. 4Create invoiceYour HTML or Google Doc template
  5. 5Write to SheetsOne row per invoice
  6. 6Send for approvalFinance approves, then it's emailed

Each automation invoices one partner or advertiser, so once the first one works you duplicate it for the next. Agent Zero can copy it and swap the partner's name and ID across every step in one go.

The presets guide walks through this exact workflow step by step, and there are separate guides for invoice templates and invoice numbering.

Where Affise's own tools are enough

Affise can generate affiliate billings on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly schedule by itself, and its reports are strong. If your partners are happy to see billing inside the Affise portal and your managers rarely export anything, you may not need another tool.

AffZero fits when the work leaves Affise: invoices in your own format, emails to each partner, a finance sheet, an alert in someone's inbox, or reports that combine Affise with another tracker. To see what that's worth at your volume, try the savings calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Does AffZero replace Affise?+

No. Offers, partners, tracking and billing stay in Affise. AffZero uses the Affise API to automate the reporting, checks, emails and invoices around it.

Does it work with an Affise affiliate (partner) account?+

Yes. AffZero connects to either the admin side of Affise with an admin API key, or to an affiliate portal with that portal's URL and your affiliate API key. What you can pull depends on which side you connect.

Does AffZero pay affiliates?+

No. It builds and sends invoices and can log payout totals to Google Sheets. Money moves through whatever you already use for payouts.

How is this different from Affise's own affiliate billing?+

Affise generates billings inside Affise on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly schedule. AffZero builds the invoice document on your own template and numbering, can hold it for approval, and emails it, which suits teams that send invoices in their own format.
